We will arrange a conversation about goals, current supports and living preferences, then offer a tour where it looks like a possible fit. Tours are booked at a time that suits the person and their family, advocate or support coordinator.

Ryrie Street is an eight-bedroom home arranged as three separately accessed living sections. Each section has its own entry, private living room and kitchen, so a smaller household feel is kept within one property. ILO is an individually designed living arrangement rather than a building or a set number of support hours. It brings together where someone lives, who they live with, and the mix of paid support, housemate or host arrangements, informal support and backup plans. What is Solara's Concierge Living Model?

Concierge Living is Solara's own flexible service model used in selected shared living environments. Assistance is planned around the week's routines and appointments, with staff accessible on site during agreed times so help is close at hand without being constantly present. It suits people who value predictability while keeping room for independence.

How are support hours arranged?

There is no fixed minimum or maximum package. The timing, amount and type of support are individually agreed according to the person's plan, service proposal, goals and living arrangement, and confirmed in writing before support begins. Weekly activities and regular house meetings help residents shape their own week.

Is Ryrie Street suitable for people with accessibility needs?

Accepted Answer

Accessibility and mobility requirements are considered individually rather than assumed. Some areas of the property may suit some access needs better than others, so we encourage prospective residents, families and allied health professionals to inspect the home and discuss environmental or equipment requirements with us before any offer is made.

Can family members and approved visitors come to the property?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A resident's home is their own, and family members, advocates and approved visitors are welcome. Visiting arrangements are agreed with the resident and, where a section is shared, with consideration for housemates' privacy and comfort. Residents choose who is involved in their planning and who receives information about their support.

What is included in the accommodation?

Bedrooms are provided furnished with a bed, storage and basic furniture, and shared areas within each section are set up for everyday living and cooking. People usually bring personal belongings, bedding preferences, clothing, devices, decorations and any personal equipment they already use. We provide a written list of what is included and what to bring before move-in day.

Are rent, board and support charged separately?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Rent, board, utilities, groceries and ordinary household expenses are the resident's own living costs, and some people may be eligible for Commonwealth Rent Assistance through Services Australia. Funded supports are treated separately and may be available where they are included in the person's current plan and consistent with their goals, funding and service agreement. Exact charges and inclusions are put in writing before any agreement is signed.

Can I retain another provider for some supports?

Yes, wherever it is practical. Many people keep providers and workers they already trust while Solara supports other parts of their week. We plan who is responsible for what, so nothing falls between services, and we coordinate with support coordinators and informal supports as agreed.

Question 12

How do schools and families enquire about Solara Thrive or Solara Adventures?

Families, schools and support coordinators can enquire directly through this page or the youth program pages. Solara Thrive runs after school for ages 12–17 plus Saturdays, and Solara Adventures runs during school holidays for ages 10–18. We confirm program dates, group arrangements and what to bring before a young person's first session.

What happens after I submit an enquiry or referral?

You receive an acknowledgement, then a team member follows up during business hours to understand what is needed. Depending on the enquiry we arrange a goals and preferences discussion, a suitability, compatibility and funding review, and a tour or planning meeting, followed by written agreements before anything starts.

We welcome feedback, and raising a concern never affects the support someone receives. You can speak with any team member, call or email us, or use our feedback and complaints page, which also lists independent advocacy and external complaint options if you would prefer to go outside Solara.
