How support works

Planned with the person, not around them

Staff do not direct every moment of the day. Goals are practised through ordinary routines such as meals, cleaning, budgeting, travel and appointments.

  1. Goals and preferences

Start with the person's choices, routines, relationships and hopes for home.

  2. Suitability and compatibility

Talk through support needs, safety, accessibility and who already lives in the home.

  3. Agree support and costs

Document planned support, accommodation costs, optional board and any after-hours arrangements.

  4. Plan the move

Arrange introductions, a gradual transition and the practical details of moving in.

  5. Review and build independence

Review goals regularly and adjust support as routines and confidence develop.
